Harness the Incredibly Powerful Effects of the New Moon
Moon Water is a simple, yet versatilely powerful, magical tools.
I’ve outlined the basics of making, using and storing Moon Water in a previous post, so here I’ll focus on the power of Moon Water created at the New Moon.
The Moon calls to our emotions, our inner selves and our dreams. Each month she travels a journey from New to Full and on to Dark before renewing herself once again.
The New Moon corresponds with such energies as:
New Beginnings
Goals, especially new goals
Intentions
Dreams
In other words, those emotionally charged things we want to start, to bring into reality. So Moon Water made at the New Moon would carry the energies that empower manifestation.
Simple New Moon Water
To create a simple New Moon Water, place water in a bowl or glass and set it out under the yet-to-be-lit night sky. Leave it to absorb the hint of moonlight and all the promises it brings. You can imbue those promises in numerous ways through the month.

New Moon Water Spellwork
Another option is to create New Moon Water as a part of spellwork. While the basic creation is the same – placing a bowl or glass of water under the new moon overnight. As it’s set out, empower the water with the specific energies you’d like to call in. This could be done with crystals, with herbs, with a chant or with all three. After bringing the water back inside (or out of the window if it’s been charged indoors), store the water for use in magickal workings.

My plan for this month’s New Moon is to focus on a specific goal I’m working toward, visualizing it as I bless the water while surrounding the bowl with clear quartz crystals and an herbal blend that corresponds with my goal. After blessing seeds with this goal in mind under last month’s full moon, they’ve been germinating and will be ready for planting and watering daily with this New Moon Water. The spell will continue with the act of watering the seedlings, and of daily attention to their growth.
