The March Full Moon is known by many names, including Storm Moon Crow Moon and Seed Moon.
The energy is filled with the symbolism of Spring, with a focus on growth, new beginnings, creativity and honoring the Inner Child. It’s a great time to reflect on manifesting energy to support self-esteem.
A wonderful practice for exploring creativity, self-esteem and inner child work is Jar Magick.
Moon Goddess Jar Magick for Free Spirited Inner Child Play
Items Needed:
✨ A lidded jar – this Moon Goddess jar is ideal
✨ A dozen or so strips of Paper
✨ A writing instrument (pen, pencil, crayon, quill – whatever you like to write with)
Begin by relaxing, perhaps in a cast circle after Drawing Down the Moon, or maybe outdoors under the moonlight, or simply in a quiet candlelit room.
Quiet your mind, following your breath until you feel grounded and centered. After a a few moments, bring your focus on the idyllic, free spirited energy of childhood. Imagine simple pleasures, joy, faith and laughter. Think about what might empower someone to live in that positive, energized mindset? Let yourself reflect on the idea of believing in fairytales, having pure faith in magic, and embracing the world of make believe.
Think of things that might help you reengage with those joyful feelings. Simple, childlike pleasures that nurture your inner free spirit. As ideas for free spirited, inner child activities come to mind, write them on the strips of paper.
A few ideas you might include are:]
Dance under the moonlight
Color with brand new crayons, or stubby old ones
Gather dandelion puffs and make wishes
Jump rope
Play dress up
Dig in the dirt and make mud pies
Thirteen is a good number of activities to include, but write as many or as few slips of paper that appeal to you. When you’re finished, hold the slips of paper in your hands and consider the feeling these activities will bring. Be in those feelings, embrace them. Fill yourself with that energy and let it pour into the slips of paper.
Be with this wondrous feeling for as long as you like. When you feel the papers are fully imbued with that energy, pour them into your jar. Hold the open jar up to the Full Moon and let its power and energy shine brightly on the words before capping the jar and holding it to your heart before placing it on your altar or in a safe place.
Making the Magick
Be it at specific times on a regular schedule or at random as you feel the need, open the jar, close your eyes and pull a random slip of paper from inside. Do the activity written on the paper, letting the energy you’d imbued it with fill you as you fully engage with the free spirited delight of a child.
Have Fun!
