What is Sacred Space?
The simplest description is a space that makes your Soul happy.
I often think of it as a magickal space felt after a circle is cast, a place of perfect love and perfect trust. But Sacred Space isn't only found in ritual. It's wherever you feel whole and magickal and energetically aligned.
That could be a ritual space. But it could also be a cushion in front of an altar, a section of floorspace cleared for dancing, or the winding path through a gorgeous garden.
It might be a corner of the couch warmed by sunshine, a favorite spot snuggled under sweetly-scented blanket in bed or standing at the stovetop stirring up something amazing.
Some sacred spaces are communal. Spiritual places, nature, museums, they all hold sacred energy.
But each of us has or can create our own personal sacred space. More importantly, each of us needs to create our own sacred space. A space we can be in daily.
That space could be as small as the corner of a room or as encompassing as an entire home. It could be a permanent structure that visually pulls you in as soon as you see it, or a scented trigger that opens your senses to spirit at the flame of a candlewick. A comfy spot that you settle into to be carried away on a sound journey.
The key for any sacred space is that it allows in the energy that, again, makes you feel whole and magickal and aligned to spirit.
