Moon Water is one of the simplest, yet most versatilely powerful, magical tools there is. 
Moon Water can be made at the New Moon, the Full Moon, the Dark Moon, the Blue Moon, etc, and each one will carry the energy of the Moon’s power that charges it.
The making of Moon Water is simple. Put water (preferably filtered or bottled) in a clear glass vessel and set it under the light of the Moon where it will become infused with the energy of the Moon Phase power. Outdoors is optimal, but a window works fine.
For general Moon Water blessings, I hold my hands over the water and ask the Moon Goddess to infuse it with her power, love and light. If I have a specific purpose in mind for the Moon Water, it can be empowered in a variety of ways. Crystals, herbs and essential oils, as well various magickal workings can be integrated to charge the water and enhance the Moon’s energy.
After blessing or charging the water, its left in the moonlight overnight. The next morning, pour the water into a jar with a lid (any of my Apothecary Jars, such as this Cancer Apothecary Jar with it’s rubber stopper lid is perfect for this!) and store until needed.
For the most part, Moon Water is best used within a cycle of the moon (28 days). Not because the energy fades, but because depending on the water source and how the Moon Water is stored, there is a risk of bacteria growth. Some ideas to lengthen the health of Moon Water are to start with distilled or bottled water and to make sure the container is covered to keep away dust or debris. The refrigerator is best, with a dark space a decent secondary storage idea. Over the years, I’ve seen suggestions of adding various essential oils or alcohol to the water as an anti-microbial but unless they are specific to the intention I’m imbuing the Moon Water with, this isn’t a technique I use — Especially if I’m ingesting the Moon Water in any way.
Moon Water has many uses. Some general ideas are:
✨Add the water (if spring or bottled) to morning tea or coffee to ingest the blessings
✨ Add it to bath water or a mister to use in the shower
✨ To use for water scrying, simply add to a dark bowl
✨ Water Houseplants – they love blessings, too
✨ Cleanse and empower crystals
The ideas are endless, as is the magick and energy of the Moon.
